The Helping Hands Essentials Pantry was founded by members of Christ Church to provide personal-care items to residents of the South Shore community in need of assistance. The pantry is stocked and staffed entirely by volunteers and is supported by numerous schools, corporations, and religious and social organizations in the area.

At Helping Hands, we provide items not available through other social service pantries. These items include:

  • Shampoo
  • Soap
  • Razors
  • Diapers
  • Toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Feminine-Care Products
  • Toilet Paper
  • Detergents
  • Paper Towels
  • And Much More

Items are distributed without regard to race, creed, sexual orientation, ethnicity or any other basis. The Helping Hands Essentials Pantry is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  While housed at Christ Church, the pantry is not affiliated with any religious group.

Since it opened in November 2004, Helping Hands has served over 250 individuals on a regular basis, more than half of whom are children.  Helping Hands is open to residents of the South Shore on the second Saturday of each month, from 10 A.M. to Noon.

How can you help?
